Summer Learning Journey - Day 9

P.S MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AGAIN

DAY 9/25th December
Activity 1
Now that you have met my family it is time to think about your own family. On your blog tell us about your family. How many people are in your family? Do you have any brothers or sisters? What are their names?
Family
So, Let’s start off with the basics my family is made up of 1, 2, 3 ( joking ) 6 people So first there's my MUM ( Kim ) and my DAD ( Dan ). I have 3 sibling ( 2 girls and 1 boy ) Names are Danielle, Jahsiah and Taniesha so yea that's my family
Activity 2
Some families are very large and some are very small. Some of the smallest families are found in China where parents are allowed, by law, to have only one child. This is quite different from countries like America (U.S.A.) where some families have as many as 19 or 20 children. It is rare but it does happen!
In America, there is actually a family with 19 children who have their own television show called ’19 Kids and Counting.’ All 19 children have the same two parents (Jim Bob and Michelle) and every single one of the children has a name starting with the letter ‘J.’ The oldest children is a boy named Josh and the youngest is a girl named Josie. Amazing!
If you’d like to see a small clip from the show, follow this link: 19 Kids and Counting
Imagine that you were one of the Duggar children and you had 18 brothers and sisters. What do you think it would be like to have so many sisters and brothers living with you in one house? On your blog please tell us what you would like and what you wouldn’t like about living in such a large family.
What do you think it would be like to have so many sisters and brothers living with you in one house?
I think it would be really cool because I would have so many influences and I would never be only because like dahh 18 brothers and sisters. I would also have someone to talk to, a friend and maybe even a best friend ( hehe )
What you would like about living in such a large family?
I would like probably everything!!!!!!!! Like when we go on cool trips and other things like that.

What I wouldn't like about being in such a large family?
Hmmm, not enough attention because 19 kids thats a lot I really wouldn’t like if a was lift out and yea I think that's it.
Bonus
Choose a family member and conduct a short interview. In the interview ask them five questions about themselves:
  1. What is your name?
  2. Where were you born?
  3. How many siblings do you have?
  4. What is your favourite thing about living in New Zealand?
  5. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
Post the answers on your blog.

Where were you born? Auckland, New Zealand - Middlemore Hospital
How many siblings do you have? 2 siblings

Summer Learning Journey

Summer Learning Journey

Before you go overseas it will be important that you learn a bit about the capital city of your country. Hop online and find out about the capital city of your country. Use this information to complete the five sentences below:
       JAPAN
  1. The name of the capital city is Tokyo
  2. The population of the capital city is 13.62 million
  3. In January, the weather in the capital city is usually the coolest time of year  (Usually at 5°C)
  4. The capital city is located in the Southeastern part of Honshu ( The main Island of Japan)
  5. The languages most commonly spoken in the capital city is Japanese

  2. In January, the weather in the capital city is usually cold, very very cold             (8 C (17 F) )
  3. The capital city is located in the (northern, southern, middle) part of the country. It stands on the south bank of the Ottawa River in the eastern portion of southern Ontario
  4. The languages most commonly spoken in the capital city are English and French
Activity 2
One of the most popular activities in Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is called ‘Bullfighting.’ It has been a part of Spanish culture for centuries. In bullfighting people called ‘toreros and ‘matadors’ fight with a live bull. The toreros do most of the fighting and, ultimately, capture the bull and tie it up. Once it has been caught, the matador joins the fight and kills the bull. Although most toreros and matadors are men, there are some women who also compete in the sport.
Not everyone supports bullfighting in Spain. In fact, about 30% of the population want it to be banned (stopped) completely. What do you think? On your blog tell us whether or not you think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain. Please provide, at least, two reasons to support your decision.
Bullfighting
Should Spain Banned Bullfighting or not? Half/Half
They should banned Bullfighting because 1 it is very dangerous and 2 because  30% of the country wants it to be banned
They shouldn't because the other 70% don't want it to be banned and because at the end of the day it's the choice
Bonus Round
Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand. Have you been to Wellington? If so, please tell us about two things that you did when you were in Wellington.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to go to Wellington, follow the link to learn more about this very cool city: Discover Wellington.
On your blog, tell us what two things you would like to do if you had the chance to visit Wellington. Would you go to the botanical gardens or visit the Beehive? Perhaps you would prefer to go shopping on Cuba Street or go out for dinner on Quay Street…
If I had the chance to go to Wellington what place would I visit?
