Fire Fighter

You may see fire fighters in your local community just for looking out for people that need your help. To call for help you need to dial 111 so they can help you. They drive huge trucks, the reason why they drive huge trucks are because there’s a hose, ladders, cones,  tools, and gas for oxygen. Most fire trucks are red and white.

Firefighters also enter burning buildings to take out the fires and rescue individuals. Many firefighters are responsible for providing medical attention.  Wildlife firefighters are specially trained firefighters. They use heavy equipment and water hoses to control forest fires. There's heaps of firefighter in this world that can save peoples live. They don't only drive trucks they fly on a helicopter to take out the fire from the forest, every summer there's a bush fire, it mostly  take place in Australia because it is hot and steamy.  

To be a firefighter you have to be over 18, Volunteer for the Trade, if you ask a local how to become a firefighter, many will tell you they started as a volunteer, then you have to find CPR training and get fit, and get a fire science degree, step 3 take exams and apply for work, and last of all advance in your profession.

Firefighter save how many lives they save childrens lives, animals and families. I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the fire department for saving how many lives, we would always love and care for yous, thank you.

Duffy assembly

Today the 18th september 2017 we had Duffy Assembly.We had a visitor named Niva Retimanu she is in the radio industry since 30 years.She was born in Invercargill and raised by her Samoan parents she loves her job and she is a good reader. Now she is based in Auckland and works for New stalk ZB. Niva loves to talk and talk about her careers, her hobby is to run in marathons.  

Duffy books are given to us freely and they are great for everyday reading.I have read Olga it is about a little girl Olga wants to be an animal scientist and she wants all the newspaper to talk about her she likes to watch and write about weird and strange things.It was really good reading this funny book.

I thank Niva Retimanu for coming to our school and giving an inspiring talk about her and about reading.          

duffy assembly

Today at glenbrae school we  had duffy assembly . Niva visit glenbrae to talk about her career.she was raised by samoa. Her parents live in vakargo and it is always raining there.

She works NZ station as a news reporter. She talks about reading.She is a role model.She read a book called kiss kiss yuck yuck.this book is about a kids mom uses bright lip stick.When she kisses him.she left a big smelly spot on his cheek.she likes to reading alot.she said back when she was little.She had to work very hard.

Wondering: Jerusalem

Today at school for Reading and Writing we have been researching about what we are wondering about. I'v been wondering about Jerusalem. Maths

Today and yesterday we have been working on factor numbers and its was so challenging but then I got to understand a little of it and bit by bit I started to realise that is is just simple to do we have been working on the first page of the book
